Aspect House, Brighton
Aspect House is a prime city centre office building located near Brighton Station, comprising modern open plan office space split across 4 floors, with the NHS occupying the bottom 2 floors as a health centre.
Collins were appointed by the Charities Property Fund to strip out the existing office space & reinstate the second to fifth floors to a Cat A standard. The total office space comprises 15,000 ft2, which the Charities Property Fund wanted to let to new tenants in 2020.
The refurbishment included exposed ceiling mounted services with galvanised steel cable trays, air conditioning comfort cooling with VRF fan coil units, raised access floors and linear LED light fitting.
Collins also undertook the remodelling of the ground floor reception and entrance, refurbished the WCs and showers and constructed new MIP compliant WCs and showers on the lower ground floor.
Construction carried on throughout COVID-19 safely with minimal disruption. One of the biggest challenges, which was highlighted further by COVID-19, was working around the NHS health centre which was open 7 days a week, 8am-8pm. COVID-19 meant they were busier than ever and Collins had to install a temporary power solution and carefully plan noisy working hours to ensure their services were not impacted by construction.
